SWISS RAILWAYS IN THE SIXTIES (with some content from the Fifties, Seventies and Eighties)
Produced exclusively for the Society by Alan Snowdon from archive 8mm silent film, with added commentary
Additional DVD versions of Alan Snowdon’s Archive Series “Swiss Railways in the Sixties” are expected to be available at the Society AGM at Derby on 20th March.
In addition to Volume 2, “South of Berne” already available, Volume 1, Gotthard & Zurich and Volume 3, Railways from the French Speaking Areas will now be on DVD.
Not only do DVDs take up less storage space, but having a simple menu list allows you to go directly to the line you wish to see, without having to reel through ages of tape.
The voiceover of Volume 1, originally spoken by Alan’s Swiss neighbour has been re-recorded by Paul Russenberger, voice on the rest of the series. The intention being correct pronunciation of place names.
Alan has spent a lot of time trying to correct picture brightness, contrast and colour balance of the old silent films.
