Franz Carl Weber

Shops in this chain, located all over Switzerland; look like gift/toy shops but some have a reasonable selection of railway models. Some are better than others. Zurich is no longer a must.

Luzern, Lugano and Geneva now reported to be poor/non-existent.
This chain seems to have given up on model railways. In the heyday of the 1960s/70s the Geneva shop was a must for me as a young lad, with a whole floor of model railways and rows and rows of items on display – visited 05/07 and there is virtually no model railway section – a sorry sign of the times.

Unbelievable stock, one of every type of stock and engine, poorer on building kits etc. Some English. Huge stocks on shelves accessible only by owner.

Good selection of new, second-hand and discounted stock of all the major manufacturers. Mainly HO but HOm and N scale also. Friendly and English spoken. Also has shops in St. Gallen and Winterthur and will check available stock in those shops if you are looking for something specific (will ship to Zurich if you can wait a couple of days). Also a "must visit" shop.

Shops in this chain, located all over Switzerland; look like gift/toy shops but some have a reasonable selection of railway models. Some are better than others. Zurich is no longer a must. Luzern and Lugano now reported to be poor.
